Today’s big drama: Prom is coming up!
My son wants to ask the shy girl.
And he doesn’t want to screw it up.
So we’re at the store buying Milky Way Dark Chocolate bars.
(He wrote her a poem… and he’s going to attach the candy to the card.)
While we were out shopping, he tried to ask me a question about boys and girls…
… but it was almost impossible for us to find common ground and start working out a solution…
… because he didn’t have access to all his words.
Some of the words he needed to help me understand his problem were… taboo.
(More about this later.)
That’s when I started thinking: “How often does this happen with your customers?”
Or worse: “Is there any chance you’re accidentally offending your customers by using their taboo words?”
The turn-off words don’t have to be hardcore offenders.
They can simply be the wrong word, at the wrong time, sent to the wrong customer.
For example: Did you know that for certain buyers, saying, “Now is your time! Seize the day! Go now!” is just about the most annoying thing ever?
It’s important for you to know that Invite Me buyers HATE this pushy salesmanship (even though Celebrate Me buyers think it’s exciting).
And that’s only a problem if Invite Me buyers are your ideal buyers.
Sure, they hate pushy language, but on the upside…
… they are very loyal customers… who love to buy from you often.
So it’s important not to accidentally turn them away by using the wrong words.
Question: Do you know who your Ideal Buyer is? Do you know what to say to them… and more importantly what NOT to say to them?
If you’d like to know who your ideal buyer is, we can sort that out in about 15 minutes by Skype. It’s a free consultation. There’s no obligation. Click here to reserve your spot.
P.S. I solved the problem with my son by saying, “This is a safe place. I am a safe person for you. It’s okay to use all your words.”
Then, we started the conversation over again.
The relief on his face was priceless.
Be that person for your customers… safe, with a healthy dose of acceptance and courage.
It helps.
